As someone who has suffered with facial eczema for ten years, I’ve tried almost every prescription and non-prescription cream and ointment on the market as well as natural and gentle skincare. Thankfully through my blog I have been lucky enough to find some fantastic products that help my eczema to the point where it is manageable; however I am always looking for new products to try!

In comes HealGel which has been on my beauty radar for a couple of years. It is a brand loved by celebrities, bloggers and makeup artists around the world. Their first product, HealGel Intensive, has been a favourite of makeup artists such as the Pixiwoo sisters!

HealGel Intensive (£35, 30ml) is a cruelty free, non-oily healing serum for a variety of skin issues and scarring such as acne scarring, redness and sensitivity, psoriasis, dehydrated skin and eczema, among others. I was drawn to this multi-purpose serum by the rave reviews of how soothing, protective and effective it is.

It contains healing ingredients such as arnica to help reduce swelling and bruising, hexapeptides to promote skin regeneration, and madecassoside which is an anti-inflammatory ingredient to reduce redness and irritation -the latter is an annoyingly persistent factor of my eczema.

I’ve been using this restorative, healing serum over the dry and irritated areas of my face as well as over my ears which have joined the eczema party…I find the serum to be so immediately refreshing, cooling and smoothing which if you have eczema yourself, you know how rare that feeling is. I mainly use it as part of my evening skincare routine and in the morning my skin is noticeably smoother, much more comfortable and significantly more healed and less irritated than it was the day before – it’s a miracle, well almost.

HealGel Intensive is definitely a new staple in my skincare routine as an extra when needed on days where my eczema has flared up or when my skin is extra sensitive. Even just overnight it helps my skin to become more comfortable and less irritated.

The claim that is helps speed up skin recovery is definitely true, even though it sounded too good to be true initially. However, it isn’t a lifesaver product on its own for me as I still need to use my eczema specific creams. Nonetheless, it is a wonderful recovery serum to use in conjunction with my current products that I will be recommending to everyone with skin issues and sensitivity, including eczema!
