Givenchy Phenomen’eyes Mascara 2015 Review

So Givenchy are calling this new launch “The Myth Reinvented” and that is pretty apt for me as, having never tried Phenomen’eyes, it does all feel a bit mythical! Here’s the lowdown on Givenchy Phenomen’eyes Mascara 2015.

Now I don’t know why I have never tried it because I am a big fan of Givenchy mascara and apparently Phenomen’eyes has been their best-seller for the past ten years. They tend to say “if it ain’t broke, don’t think it” (why do they say that? I could never use such grammar crimes and who is ‘they’ anyway?), but Givenchy have decided to improve on the best with a new high performance formula. You have to give it to Givenchy for not resting on their laurels.

Now obviously, this can’t be a comparison review because I haven’t tried the original but this new mascara is so great that I can’t decide whether I wish I had or not.

What isn’t changing is the Phenomen’eyes spherical brush. It will stay exactly as it was originally designed by Nicolas Degennes as the solution to his desire to cut traditional brushes to make them ultra-manoeuvrable. That stays the same but what we have here is a new-generation formula.

Givenchy Phenomen’eyes Mascara 2015 Formula

The redesigned Givenchy Phenomen’eyes line now includes 2 mascaras, classic, which I am showing you today, and waterproof which I haven’t had a chance to try yet. Both contain:

• Unique blend of 4 waxes for a supple and fluid texture
• A multi-action polymer with elastic and styling properties that adheres to the lashes, setting them will curl and length
• Pure pigments with an amino acid derivative which locks in intense colour
• Waterproof version also includes a new polymer, gum arabic which boosts adhesion for indestructible lashes

There’s also sleek new packaging which I love.

I love this mascara. It has shot to the top of my fave list. I would be very interested to hear the opinion of someone that has tried both the original and this new formula.
