With lockdown easing and light shining at the end of the tunnel for the world opening up, I think we are all thinking about how we are going to get Summer 2021 ready! A summer overhaul can be a challenge under normal circumstances, but after a global pandemic, we all need even more help! The good news is that Very has a huge range of products to help shake off lockdown!

I have to say, I am so excited about the world going back to normal and have started to kick start my regime to get my skin into shape top to toe. Here are my top tips for facing summer with your best foot forward.

Double Cleansing

I wear SPF every day of the year, but it’s even more of a focus for me during the summer months.

Obviously the most important thing is to make sure you put it on. However, nearly as important for skin health is making sure you properly take it off.

Glowing summer skin starts with really good cleansing, and for me that means double cleansing.

My favourite First Cleanse products include:

• REN Clean Skincare Perfect Canvas Clean Jelly Oil Cleanser – this is such a great oil cleanser for travel because it’s super portable. It has such a beautiful texture and it just slips and slides over the skin and melts everything off.

• Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm – this is a real classic when it comes to balm cleansing. It removes long wear makeup, SPF and all impurities. Plus the aroma makes feel like you’re in a spa.

My Second Cleanse Recommendations include:

• Elemis Pro Collagen Energising Marine Cleanser – this is my favourite gel cleanser. It’s the perfect second step after an oil or balm because it removes every last trace of impurities without stripping the skin.
• Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser – if you want a cleanser that adds in a bit of exfoliation, this one is excellent. It gently resurfaces the skin for major glow.

At Home Facial

There’s nothing like treating yourself to a luxury face mask to quickly get your complexion into shape.

I have a few favourite masks that you can order from Very:

• Emma Hardie Moringa Renewal Treatment Mask – this mask is amazing if you want to deeply hydrate, tackle lines, wrinkles and lack of firmness, and basically get your skin glowy and bright. It’s a brilliant one stop shop that addresses such a wide range of issues. You can’t go wrong with it.
• REN Clean Skincare Glyco Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask – I love this mask when I want an instant glow. It deeply exfoliates, decongests and purifies the skin, so if you’re having any problems with texture, this is the one.

Get Summer 2021 Ready with Self Tan

Very have an amazing range of self tanning products and if you really want a natural looking glow, it’s a good idea to build up a tanning wardrobe.

Flawless Tan Routine

Prep is key when it comes to tanning. I am a serial tanner, and because I use it all year round, I find that I really do need to focus on the prep stage. There is nothing worse that applying fresh tan over layers of old tan! Every now and then you just need to start fresh.

Clean Start

I love the St Tropez Tan Remover Lotion for making sure that all my old tan is completely removed.

It’s really easy to do. I just apply a layer over my skin, leave it on for about 10 minutes, and then gently scrub everything off with the St Tropez Build Up Remover mitt.

Fresh Tan

Probably one of my favourite ever tans I have used is the St Tropez Express Mousse.

I love it because it’s so easy to apply, the instant colour shows you exactly where you’re tanning and it dries really quickly so you can get dressed straight away. It is pretty much fool proof.

It gives you such a beautiful natural looking glow and you can tailor how deep you want to go with how long you leave it on for.

Their gorgeous tanning mitts really help with achieving a flawless finish.

Maintenance

When I tan (which is all the time) I like to gently exfoliate a day or two after to ensure an even fade. I absolutely love the St Tropez Tan Enhancing Body Polish for this.

Using this gentle scrub helps to can extend the life of my self tan, because I can do a quick top up without it looking patchy. This is especially helpful if I don’t want to start from scratch.
