My Review

I have to say, this matte lipstick is an absolute joy. The application is effortless, and for such a pigmented shade, that is really saying something.

I just needed one dip to cover the whole lips and it is instantly comfortable and cushiony. It has a lovely thick texture that is easy to control. The doe-foot is designed perfectly to line and define the lips, and even with a shade as deep as The MPV, I could create a really neat look, which is pretty unusual for me!!

The MPV shade, which is a classic Fenty Beauty shade, is so beautiful. It is designed to work with all skin tones, and it has a blue-red hue. It gives a really classic yet modern look.

Over time, the formula stays feeling light and really comfortable. This is not designed to be a transfer proof lipstick, and I am not mad about it. I generally find that even the formulas that are meant to be transfer proof, still do transfer and they can be pretty drying on the lips at the same time.

With darker shades, you always need to be careful about eating and drinking, and make sure you do regular teeth checks! I found this lasted really well, as long as I was careful, and for me, it’s all about how beautiful and intense the pigment is, and just how good it feels on the lips.

I actually wore this after a marathon lip swatching session, which can leave my lips feeling dry, and it still felt really soft and nourishing. That’s a complete win for me.

I also found that the texture really smoothed the appearance of my lips, and left them looking plumped and perfected. I am a big fan. I’d be interested to try the lighter shades, as I think they will be easier to wear too.

This removed really nicely with my Cle de Peau Cleansing Oil* which is a new favourite of mine, but I think any good oil or balm would work.
