I’ve been a fan of Eucerin ever since my GP recommended it to my daughter to sort out the dry skin her acne treatment was giving her. I have really pale, really dry, really sensitive skin and the Eucerin Dry Skin Relief 5% cream can transform my face from an uncomfortable, flaking, mid winter mess into a smoothed, soothed and all round happier state in a single application.
So at a recent Eucerin event when I was given the Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler CC Cream to try I was cautiously optimistic that this might be something my sensitive skin could tolerate.

The key to this product is in the name: hyaluron-filler. It’s a combination of just the lightest touch of coverage, mixed with a heavy dose of skincare. Designed to plump up even the deepest wrinkles, it really does seem to give the skin a plumper, more hydrated look and feel, something which my dry and slightly (ahem) mature skin really needs. This is due to the Hyaluronic acid content which locks in moisture and works its magic on the skin throughout the day, smoothing over existing lines and preventing new wrinkles from forming. Apparently, Hyaluronic acid can hold many, many times its own weight in water, hence why it works so well to keep moisture levels in the skin up.
It’s also a product that’s sufficiently moisturising in its own right that despite my sensitive and dry skin type I’ve been able to wear it alone without moisturiser each day, something which is almost unheard of for me! The standard version (which is the one I’ve been wearing) contains both UVA & UVB sunscreen with an SPF of 15 meaning you don’t need to apply anything underneath it unless your skin is incredibly dry and needs an extra dose of moisture.

For when you go on holiday, or if you prefer something with more sunscreen there’s also a Factor 50 Eucerin CC Cream. This one doesn’t contain all the hyaluronic acid or skincare benefits of the standard version, but is the perfect combination of sun-care and coverage and would be great for holidays.
Despite all the super-charged skincare in the standard version, this is a product that blends relatively easily into the skin with your fingertips, and once it’s on it doesn’t leave a heavy film of product sitting on the skin. Your skin feels nourished, but not at all sticky or shiny. Even the SPF50 version, despite its amazing sun protection qualities, leaves a completely non sticky finish -although its texture is slightly thicker than the hyaluron-filler version as you can see above.
Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Coverage:

As someone who is not a huge fan of heavy foundation I love to try anything that offers a very light coverage- something just enough to give a slight evening out of the skin and a bit of glow, but nothing that will completely cover my freckles or make them look ashy. This cream fits the bill perfectly. It gives a very light, very slightly dewy finish with just enough coverage to even out slight differences in pigmentation or take the edge off the dark circles, but leaves the impression that you just have naturally great skin.

I’ve been wearing it alone, with a little concealer around the eyes and on any blemishes and a light dusting of powder over the top to keep it looking good throughout the day. If you do prefer a slightly higher level of coverage it also works perfectly with makeup over the top- they key is to blend it out carefully and give it a moment or two to absorb before applying foundation in order to get a really great base.
