Estee Lauder New Dimension Collection

I know that brands always say this when they are doing a big new launch, but my first impression of the new Estee Lauder New Dimension Collection is that it could genuinely be a game changer. It is all about regaining the structure and volume of youth, however, throughout the entire presentation and consistent within the press materials, there has not been one mention of anti-ageing.

Estee Lauder New Dimension Collection is about a whole new approach to skincare and beauty – a change in perspective and point of view. The whole beauty industry is obsessed with antidotes – something to erase a line or something to lighten darkness. Jane Hertzmark Hudis, Global Brand President of Estee Lauder, says this is not about “how does my skin look,  but how do I look?”

Estee Lauder New Dimension acknowledges what a visually driven culture we have become. The majority of us are perfectly aware which side of our faces look best in photos. We prefer to take selfies than be photographed and we want the world so see us from the angle that we prefer.

The aim of this new collection is that we will be happy with all of our angles and it won’t matter which light we are seen in because we will be happier with the way we look. Sounds like a dream doesn’t it? Well I am very interested to see whether it’s one I want to believe in.

Estee Lauder New Dimension Collection Contents

Estee Lauder New Dimension is about creating a transformation, not just with one product, but with a collection:

• Estee Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum – a powerful, concentrated formula that helps define the look of contours to help lift the look of cheeks and the jawline by improving both visible volume and structure
• Estee Lauder New Dimension Expert Liquid Tape – a precision-accurate treatment that targets and helps give a tighter feel to key facial contours. Over time, New Dimension Expert Liquid Tape helps firm, tone and give a more sculpted, lifted look around eyes
• Estee Lauder New Dimension Shape + Sculpt Face Kit – an all-in-one contouring duo that instantly creates an ideal facial framework with two expertly coordinated cream shades. The neutral tones make contouring mistake-proof every time
• Estee Lauder New Dimension Shape + Sculpt Eye Kit – an eye contour kit that helps create ideal eye shape and appearance

As you will see, the approach is about structure and volume and not just skin. No mention of lines or wrinkles, or indeed pigmentation. In fact, there’s no mention of drooping or sagging skin either. It’s all a very positive approach – defining the look of contours, firming, toning and sculpting. Feeling better about the way you look.

Estee Lauder New Dimension – the promise

And results are going to be fast, we are told. In fact, Jane Hertzmark Hudis actually said “I promise”. I did a bit of a double take when she said that, and started to pay even more attention, if that’s possible! I was pretty excited already!

If Jane Hertzmark Hudis can promise me fast results and improvement in the structure and volume of my face (I’m obsessed with the fact that I can see my face drooping before my very eyes), then I am 100% listening to every word she says!!

I have waffled on enough, so without going into too much detail, Estee Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Serum says it will deliver beautiful facial contours with improvements within 1 day, 3 days, 2 weeks and 4 weeks. That is fast.

It claims to work at multi depths of the skin with 3 targeted actions. Shaping Technology uses 4 potent ingredients to increase volume and restore the look of natural fullness. After 3 days using the serum, lipid production increases causing an increase in the thickness of skin cells and thus volume.

A Pro-collagen complex supports the skin’s own collagen production and collagen levels were seen to increase by 294% after 3 days.

Skin strengtheners are reported to cause a 236% increase in elastin after 3 days and Fibronectin, the glue between the cells and collagen were measured at an increase of 417% after 2 days and showed a much more organised structure. WOW!

However, Estee Lauder New Dimension has been testing on more than just these skin measurements. In the spirit of the ‘whole woman’ approach, Estee Lauder employed Neuroscience testing to measure the all round benefits of the products in terms of the physiological + emotional response to what women saw in the mirror after using the products for 10 weeks.

Women wore neuro sensors whilst assessing before and after photos and a real positive change in attitude was measured. 91% of panellists were more enthusiastic about how they looked – they also “indicated feelings of delight and astonishment”. I want to be delighted and astonished!!

I’m told that if I use the Estee Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum for 2 weeks, I will see more defined looking facial contours. I’m excited.

Estee Lauder New Dimension collection launches 1^st September 2015. The Shape + Fill Serum is £88 for 50ml  and £62 for 30ml. Expert Liquid Tape is £46 (30ml). The fact kit is £34 and the eye kit is £30.
