Estee Lauder Act IV is a brand new limited edition makeup collection which has been created with Danielle Lauder. I have all the products here to show you with photos and swatches.

Danielle is an actress in Hollywood and Estee Lauder’s great-granddaughter and her inspiration for this collection was the beauty of old Hollywood.
What’s in the Estee Lauder Act IV Collection?
There are eight products in this limited edition collection, all with marble and rose gold packaging which aims to ticks all those boxes when it comes to Instagram.

It looks very different for the Estee Lauder brand.
The collection includes:
- Best Picture Multi-Look Palette, £43
- Spotlight Highlighter, £43
- Cinematic Complexion Liquid, £46
- Party Puff Starlucent Filtered Powder, £43
- Luxe Lip Crème in 2 shades £34
- Lip Duet Tint & Balm, £37
- Brushed by Fame Makeup Brush Kit, £64
Estee Lauder Act IV Swatches
I have been playing with all the range and the lip products are definitely my favourite, but I have swatches and info on everything to share with you.
Estee Lauder Act IV Luxe Lip Creme
The formula of these lipsticks is really nice and I love both the shades too.

They are both super complexion-brightening and are an easy way to really wake up the face.

The formula is creamy and luxurious and feels great on the lips. The coral shade has gold shimmer that really makes it pop.

Lip Duet Tint & Balm
This product is another favourite and ideal if you fancy one of the lipsticks, because you can mix and match the packaging for luscious lip perfection.

One side has a nourishing lip balm and the other side has a soft, tinted lip blush which give that just-butten flush.

They come as a duo in a magnetic case, which you can swap the lipsticks into. So if you’re travelling, you can take you balm and lipstick of choice in one easy tube. It’s pretty cool!

I love the formula of these balms. They have a smooth, gel-like texture and give lips a gorgeous juicy look and feel. They are gorgeous.
Estee Lauder Act IV Cinemattic Complexion Liquid
This is a fluid that has been designed to smooth the look of skin and create a flawless matte finish.

I am not really a fan of matte, but I have done before and after photos so you can see how it works.

Before & After

If you like to minimise shine (I don’t really) then this could be for you because it does a great job of knocking out obvious shine with a soft, velvety look that minimises the appearance of pores.
Act IV Spotlight Highlighter
The combination of pearlescent lavender and golden honey tones means that this highlighter should work for most skin tones.

It has a lovely creamy powder texture and is easy to apply and build.

I really love the formula but the shade is a little too pink for my skintone.
Party Puff Starlucent Filtered Powder
This is a really pretty powder and it has been designed to filter out imperfections and impart a natural radiance and instant brightening effect.

You can use this to set makeup or you can use it alone to give a soft rosy radiance. The formula controls oil and blurs the look of lines.
Best Picture Multi-Look Palette

This palette can be used on eyes and face and contains four smooth, creamy shades of “coral, ivory, lavender, and charcoal designed to warm cheeks, illuminate high points, and define lids”.

The compact features a portrait of Danielle Lauder which, as beautiful as she is, feels a little uneccessary. For me, it makes the palette seem a bit old fashioned rather than evocative of the Hollywood glamour that it takes as its inspiration.

This palette is my least favourite part of the collection because I don’t really love all the shades either. The coral is pretty on the lids though.
The lip is the tinted balm which I love.
Estee Lauder Act IV – My Review
This is such a pretty collection but I have to confess, I was a little confused by it. At first look, it appears to be designed to appeal to a younger audience, but then the references to old Hollywood, and also the high price tags seem to contradict this.
Whilst I have a few faves within the collection, I can’t quite work out who the consumer is. Personally, I can find pretty much everything this range offers in BECCA’s product line up, (which Lauder also owns) in shades and textures that better suit my preferences, and at a significantly lower price point. For example, BECCA’s gorgeous Ultimate Lipstick Love range is £20.
For £64, I would definitely pass on the brush set because Bobbi Brown (also Lauder) definitely has better quality options. I’d love to hear what you think.
