Embryolisse is best known for its cult classic ‘Lait Crème Concentre’ – which I adore, so I was super excited about trying out some eye care items from the brand.
Eyes. The window to the soul and yet the first place to show the signs of ageing (so cruel).
Embryolisse Smoothing Eye Contour Care
Out of the two, this was the product I was most excited about. I am yet to find ‘the one’ in terms of eye cream. I find that even though I have more of an oily/combo skin type, my under eyes always seems to look dehydrated. Embryolisse Smoothing Eye Contour Care claims to help with wrinkles, circles, and bags… Whilst I don’t suffer with bags, I very much have dark circles (a curse of being super pale) and I have baby wrinkles too, so what could I lose?
The cream has vitamins A and E, Hyaluronic acid as well as plant ingredients such as sesame, cornflower and oak meristem which have soothing and regenerating properties. It can also be used day and night.
At first the texture is misleading as it comes out of the tube very thick, however when applied it has a cream/gel consistency. It absorbs easily into the skin and has a lovely hydrating, cooling effect. My under eye felt hydrated all day long without feeling greasy. Make up also applied beautifully over the top.
The verdict: Whilst I don’t feel that I have noticed any significant differences regarding dark circles and wrinkles (I tried this for two weeks), it felt really lovely to apply in the evening after a long day as a super boost of hydration. I think this is something that with dedication you will really see results and I looking forward to continuing to use it. Find it here
Embryolisse Artist Secret: Radiant Eye
This is a make-up artists secret weapon before the red carpet and pre-photoshoot. Not only does it claim to immediately brighten the under eye but also has a moisturising complex that helps smooth the contours of the outer layers of the skin.
I had super high hopes for this as I do feel that I have dehydrated under eyes and my concealer sometimes can look crepey. This is a twist up stick that contains vitamin PP (also known as Vitamin B3 or Niacin), aloe vera and glycerine. You can apply this before make-up, in the evening or during the day over make-up to refresh and brighten.
Whilst I did appreciate the cooling effect when first applied I didn’t see any brightness. In terms of any moisturisation benefits, this were very superficial and disappeared fairly quickly after application.
The verdict: I wanted to love this product but failed to see any benefits. Sorry Embryolisse. Find it here
