Having fallen in love with a few of the Nirvana fragrances by Olsen twins brand Elizabeth and James, I just had to try this product. Check out how I have been getting on with the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Dry Shampoo.

Now I have to confess, I wasn’t sure how this was going to go. I mean, I love the fragrances, particularly Nirvana Amethyst (review here), but I wasn’t sure exactly what the brand could offer to the dry shampoo market. I was keen to test it out though because I love the idea of fragrant hair and I have the Nirvana Bourbon scented dry shampoo which smells great. Also, Mary Kate and Ashley’s hair always looks cool and I want a piece of that!

I really like the look of the can. The packaging isn’t quite as desirable (or instagrammable) as the Hair by Sam McKnight range, but it is sleek and attractive and would look great on the dressing table.

I think it’s really clever to extend a fragrance line with a dry shampoo because, for me, the scent element of hair products is crucial. I always want my hair to smell good.

I was fully confident that this would make my hair smell good, but less so about how it would work as a dry shampoo rather than simply a hair fragrance.

The good news is that it’s also a really good dry shampoo. When you first spray it on, there is a soft white cast, but the key is to leave it to sit for a minute and then gently rub it in. This adds texture and volume and also makes it invisible. It feels super light and really lifts my hair when it is starting to go limp. It doesn’t give me that dry shampoo feeling at all and it keeps my style looking fresh for hours. It’s a brilliant product. And it smells amazing – the Nirvana Bourbon scent is an oriental with notes of vanilla bourbon with oakwood and tuberose. The Dry Shampoo is also available in the other Nirvana scents.

The downside of Elizabeth and James Nirvana Dry Shampoo is the price. It is £25 although at the time of writing available HERE at the Black Friday price of £22.50. It is expensive, but if you are looking for a high end fragrance combined with an effective dry shampoo, this is it. It will be especially appealing if you already wear the Nirvana fragrances as matching your hair to your skin is super chic don’t you think?

Also, the scent here is very long lasting unlike regular dry shampoos. However, if you are looking for a budget option, then try the Colab new scent Galactic. It smells really expensive and is cheap enough to keep spritzing throughout the day to freshen up the scent.
