Ekia Anti-Ageing Skincare Review

This is a really clever system. After you’ve answered a few simple questions about your skin, Ekia then recommend the skincare system for you. No longer is mature skin just categorised as that, Ekia have three different skin types which ensures that your skin gets exactly what it needs based on its physical structure rather than your age bracket. Let’s face it some people’s skin ages quicker than others, some people’s skin looks younger than others the same age. So the Ekia range consists of skincare specially devised for :

  • Well preserved mature skin
  • Weakened mature skin
  • Damaged mature skin

You can find the skincare questionnaire here to find out your own skin type.

Ekia also offer a system for younger skin types, who are looking for preventative skin care from age 35 onwards.

The Ekia range combines Dragon’s Blood sap (the sap from the stem of a Dragon tree found in the Amazon) which is the most powerful active antioxidant in the world and Ekia’s Chrono-Resist Complex which helps to combat specific signs of skin ageing.

So after answering a few questions about my skin, I was kindly sent the following products from the range:

Creme Initiale – a day and night cream. I was sent the Well Preserved stage as my skin “shows fine expression lines with early signs of sagging along the jaw line, my complexion is usually bright but has faint pigmentation spots”.
I like a cream which is for day and night, as it saves on having an extra tube or jar. This white cream is a light texture yet still has quite a thick consistency. Once rubbed in it leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated. Find it here

Serum Fermente – a firming serum. My skin called for the highly active firming serum to lift and deeply firm sagging skin.
This serum sinks in easily and has a subtle pleasant fresh scent. Find it here

Baume Regard – an all in one eye contour cream to reduce wrinkles, puffiness, dark circles and improve firmness.
The eye cream has a thick consistency which leaves the eye area soft to the touch and feeling really hydrated. Find it here

I really like the Ekia packaging. It’s plastic with pump dispensers, making the bottles travel friendly, compact and spillage safe.

I’ve been using these three products for nearly three weeks now and despite the recent change in seasons and the colder weather that has arrived, my skin feels soft and plumped. It’s too early for me to see a real noticeable difference in the sagging to my jaw line or eye area but I am looking forward to seeing the longer term differences.

Ekia Anti-Ageing Skincare is really turning skincare for mature skin on its head by targeting products for specific problem areas, rather than targeting an age range band which is meant to address all our skin-ageing issues, as long as they fit in to your age range.
The usual approach is crazy if you think about it, as our skin ages at different rates and while the eye area may be a key problem area for one person, it might not be for someone else. The fact the Ekia is organic, not tested on animals, suitable for sensitive skin and has at least 99% natural ingredients just makes it even better.
