DSquared2 Want Pink Ginger Fragrance Review

I’m so incredibly specific when it comes to my perfume tastes -I’m all for deep and sensual, almost masculine scents. For the longest time I’ve dismissed those sweeter, more girly scents as I’ve felt them to be too sickly or nauseating.

However, upon trying the new DSquared2 Want Pink Ginger perfume – I have seemingly changed my mind. Well, when it comes to this scent anyway.

This is a super girly, almost hypnotic fragrance. It comes housed in this cute pink and gold packaging. It’s simple but eye catching and I think they’ve really nailed the bottle. I love the bright pink round topper in particular.

The fragrance itself has a spicy and energetic feel. You’re immediately hit with pink ginger, lemon and tangerine which on their own might be a little overwhelming. However, there is pink pepper which gives it an extra depth and takes it from overpowering to hypnotic.

At first, I thought the scent was a little too overpowering and fruity for my liking, but I’ve grown to really like it. As it settles, deeper hints of neroli (a top favourite of mine) and Violet/Amber wood emerge and soften the scent. I am a complete sucker for anything with neroli in it as I find it completely intoxicating.

I found the wear time to be pretty good with this fragrance as it wafts a hint unexpectedly throughout the day. Whats great is that it doesn’t fade and constantly need to be re-applied like many sweeter fragrances on the market.

I feel this is an all year round fragrance but I can see myself wearing it more often during the winter when the air is crisp.
