The world has gone contour crazy. Well it went contour crazy a while ago but it seems the trend is getting stronger and stronger. We are more contour crazy than we have ever been. Kits are getting more interesting and more sophisticated and I couldn’t resist picking up the Dr Jart BB Mate Contouring 1 2 3 Kit when I was in a Sephora in New York recently.

Dr Jart BB Mate – How to
Each shade has a doe foot applicator for easy application. It has a handy instruction card to help you sculpt your features:
- Apply, 01 Highlight with the applicator onto areas under the eye, in the T-zone, on the bridge of the nose and chin
- Using 02 Neutralize, gently pat onto shaded areas to diminish lines or dab a sufficient amount with the applicator directly onto the laugh lines
- Using 03 Bronze, dab a small amount with the applicator onto areas around the hairline, under the cheekbone, on the sides of the nose, and under the jawline
This was my interpretation!

I blended it all out with the Real Techniques Sculpting Brush. Here it is with some Clinique Melon Pop blush applied.

I find this really easy to use and it leaves the skin with a really natural looking contour with the juicy skin finish that I love. I set it lightly with powder (I have been trying out a Besame one I also picked up in Sephora), and I was good to go. You could also set it with powder contour and highlighter if you wanted to intensify the effect.
I felt like I didn’t need to use a separate under eye concealer with this as it is really brightening and conceals any darkness/blueness that I have under my eyes. I think this is a great kit for pale skin – I use slightly less of the bronze shade than the other 2. That could potentially be a problem when product starts to run out, but you could also use the bronze shade alongside other foundations and highlighters.
At the moment, it looks like this is only available stateside, and I don’t know whether it will make its way to the UK. Find it here at Sephora and here at Birchbox. I paid $45.
