Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Fragrance Birthday

Fragrances have this innate way of invoking memories, whether it’s places, faces or even moments in time. For me, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue always takes me back to high school, when all the girls would walk round in a cloud of the stuff. It’s one of those classic, old school scents that is vividly distinctive in my mind. It’s also one of those scents that seems to suit some people and not others.

That being said, it probably isn’t a surprise that this classic Dolce & Gabbana scent is officially marking its 15th birthday this year! This also officially makes me feel ancient. The male version of Light Blue is also celebrating a special milestone as it is 10 years old this year.

Now I’ve never been the best at describing fragrances but this is a fruity and summery scent with hints of apple, Sicilian cedar and bamboo. However, it’s the jasmine and white rose accents that give this fragrance its distinctive scent and slight depth. I find this to be a fresh and contemporary scent, even 15 years later.

When I look back, I think this was quite a mature scent to be wearing during my school years but it’s still got this youthful and vibrant edge. I personally prefer wearing this during the day as I’m more of a musky, more sensual scent lover. That being said, I think this is the perfect holiday scent for both day and night.

The bottle is a sleek and sharp simple rectangle with a soft, light blue top. It’s timeless and despite its simplicity, it’s also very striking especially when many fragrance bottles are more adventurous these days.

Light Blue comes in three sizes – 25ml (£43), 50ml (£50) and 100ml (£69). I actually can’t believe I had this in high school considering the price point!
