I find it so hard to write about fragrance, unless of course something really different that catches your interest comes along. And, to be fair, that’s exactly what has happened with brand new Diptyque Florabellio. It’s so different for Diptyque and really interesting yet utterly wearable.

We are talking a blend of notes that you just wouldn’t think would work, yet they really do work so so well. I actually love this. There is all sorts going on in Diptyque Florabellio and it is a wonderful harmony of both the foreign and the familiar. You have apple blossom and coffee…who knew?! You have to smell it because it really does work.

I didn’t think anything with coffee could remind me of summer, but this really does. It’s a balmy summer, and quite heavenly.
Diptyque Florabellio Notes
Top notes: salty sea spray, sea fennel
Heart notes: apple blossom, apricot-scented ossmanthus
Base notes: roasted coffee, toasted sesame

As I said, there’s an unusual mix in there, but it’s my perfect blend. It’s uplifting, transporting and comforting with it’s bright, fresh notes on top of a warming, smooth base. Please make sure you have a little smell of this. I also think this will be a great one for the guys because it has that musky quality and strength that men will love, although it hasn’t been presented as a unisex scent I don’t think.

Diptyque Florabellio is beautiful and launches in May 2015. The 50ml EDT is £58 and 100ml is £75. Find Diptyque at John Lewis, Selfridges and Space NK.
