Ooh this is a brilliant little product that I have really been waiting for! If under your polish lurks rather yellow-tinged nails, then you will be very interested to hear about Deborah Lippmann Genie in a Bottle. It’s a nail tone perfector that will make you look like you’ve had a lovely natural mani in a flash.
So think of this as purple shampoo for your hair. If you have ever skipped base coat, or if like me, your nails are just super porous, then you may find that you have a bit of nail discolouration.
I have been wearing coloured polish for years and years. I have never skipped base coat but at the same time, my natural nail has literally not seen the light of day for longer than I can remember. Without colour to cover them, they are in a bit of a sorry state.
Although I am a huge fan of colour, I do love it when I see someone with really pretty nails and just a clear polish. It looks fresh and chic and simple. But I just cannot do it. No-one wants that corpsey kind of ‘just been dug up’ hand look!!

So here’s one coat of Deborah Lippmann Genie in a Bottle applied to one nail:
I think the instant results are pretty impressive.
Here’s the finished look:
I did one purple nail, as requested by Deborah, to show support for Safe Horizon’s anti domestic violence campaign. The colour is called Miss Independent from the Deborah Lippmann Autumn 2015 collection.
I think Deborah Lippmann Genie in a Bottle is going to come in very handy. It is purely cosmetic and won’t actually fade the yellow, but it will allow you to go for a natural nail. Deborah says that the only real way to get rid of yellow without damaging the nail is to let it grow out.
Deborah Lippmann Genie in a Bottle launches in the UK in August 2015. Find Deborah Lippmann here.
