I LOVE face masks, just ask my husband. I have an entire shelf in our bathroom dedicated to my favourite ones, much to his amusement. To me there’s nothing nicer than taking a bit of time out to pamper yourself, and face masks are ideal for this. It’s so easy to pop one on and let it works its magic whilst you relax and watch TV. Sometimes though, you need the benefit of a face mask but don’t have the luxury of a lot of time. That’s where Crystal Clear 10 Minute Glow comes in.
Crystal Clear have created a 10 minute peel off face mask as part of their Stay Young skincare collection. This range is promoted to leave skin looking younger, firmer and revitalised. The mask uses active ingredients to tackle problem areas and deeply cleanse. It is supposed to minimise pores and hydrate skin. You can use specifically on target areas or all over to give your skin a boost.
Due to the gentle nature of this mask it can be used before a night out to help you get party ready, or the next morning as a pick me up for your skin! Some of the ingredients include:
Ammonium Lactate– an exfoliant to help reduce dead skin cells
Yeast Polysaccharides– helps to regenerate damaged skin and is also an anti- inflammatory
Carica Papaya– (fruit extract and lemon) is rich in papaine, which not only helps to remove dead skin cells but also stimulates cell renewal below the surface.
This mask turned up just as I was about to head to Cornwall for Christmas. We live in Brighton so it’s a 280 mile drive from door to door. I had been at work that day and then had the drive so, as you would expect, the next day I was shattered! My skin often suffers when we go away as there’s nothing like being at home with your own products. When travelling it’s not so easy to take lot’s of options with you. I could already start to see my skin changing so I treated myself to a mask on Christmas Eve before bed. You apply the mask to freshly cleansed skin, leave for 10 minutes and then peel off.
The consistency of this mask is very nice, not as “sticky” as some of the other peel off masks available which was a big plus for me. I don’t want to be removing more product from my fingers than I do from my face! I cannot bear waste when it comes to products so the fact this mask spreads nicely and you don’t have to keep going back to the tube works for me. I applied the mask and then left it for ten minutes.
Another big minus for me with peel off masks is that you often get the mask coming off in bits when removing. I don’t like finding residual product on my face, particularly in my eyebrows etc. To truly test this out I removed my mask while watching TV, much to the fascination of my nephews who had never seen anything like it before. The mask removed itself mostly in 1 piece! I did go and wash my face afterwards as recommended but there was no finding bits of mask later on.
My skin had calmed down with the application. I didn’t see anything miraculous but I had only tried it once at this stage. I have since tried the mask a couple more times and I have seen more of a difference each time I’ve used it. My skin is more mattified after using it and I have had less redness too. I see this mask slipping comfortably into my routine, in fact, it has made the hallowed shelf!
