Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum

I have been so impressed by everything from Clinique recently and have really been coming round to their skincare. The latest anti-ageing launch is called Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum and it promises to “understand your skin’s past and change its future”. OK I am listening! I have committed some awful skin care  crimes over the years including trying to force my poor pale skin to tan, so this is extremely interesting to me!

Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum has been developed to with damage – the damage you can see, and…even scarier…the damage you can’t see!  This is being dubbed as a breakthrough formula (with 37 patents and 5 year of development) that can treat your damage and your skin issues in a bespoke and tailor-made way. Hence custom-repair.

Well basically the  Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum has such an advanced and sophisticated formulation that it is actually able to read and understand the distress signals that damaged skin sends out. Then, from it’s cocktail of ingredients and various technologies, it selects and delivers the appropriate components to start fixing the particular damage that your skin has incurred, when and where it is needed. Sounds incredible doesn’t it? It’s like a dermatologist in a bottle!

Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum Clinical Trials:

Clinical trials over 12 weeks have show that Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum can deliver visible improvements in:

• uneven skin tone
• dark spots
• dullness
• lines
• wrinkles
• firmness

And how does it do all this? Well damaged, inflamed skin is unable to repair itself as it lacks energy, so the Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum works first to calm and soothe the skin which then make it able to best utilise repair ingredients. It does this with a “super charged” potent Red Algae while Licorice Extract and Caffeine also help optimise cellular efficiency and keep irritation at bay. Once calm, the skin can accept the formulas ingredients that work all the elements listed in my bullets above.

It uses brightening ingredients from Dianella Ensifolia, Morus Nigra Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicelensis Root Extract and Grape Extract to tackle existing pigmentation issues. It  also uses Antioxidants like Vitamin C and Ergothioneine help fight excess melanin production and in addition to this, Salicylic Acid exfoliates the surface to break up dark spots. A double attack on hyperpigmentation!

Glucosamine and Salicylic Acid helps promote cell renewal to improve radiance and luminosity, repair enzymes and collagen boosting peptides (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 and Palmitoyl Oligopeptide) work on lines, wrinkle and firmness. And Whey Protein and Siegesbeckia Orientalis Extract help rebuild skin’s support structure to revolumise the appearance of thin, sagging skin and restore elasticity.

And let’s not forget all-important hydration! A blend of Hyaluronic Acid, Barley Extract, Wheat Germ Extract and Cucumber Extract supplement and maintain the skin’s moisture levels, keeping it hydrated, supple and plump.

And apparently all of this is happening just where and when your particular skin needs it, as it intelligently responds to your skin’s SOS. It’s a wonderfully light and velvety serum that sinks invisibly into the skin leaving a slightly matte finish. So far I am very pleased with it.

Well, I obviously can’t say how well it works yet as I have only applied it once so far. I really want it to work though and will certainly give it a try.  I am hoping that skincare can really be that clever!
