The highlighting shade has been designed to create volume and sculpt using an optical effect on the skin. You apply it to the arch of the brow, under eyes and on the upper and lower lip.

The contouring shade is to make hollows in all the right places! You place it on the high points of the forehead and around the temples, and beneath the cheekbones and jaw.

The blush shade is there to add a healthy flush of colour to the cheeks. It is a very pretty shade. The little brush is cut to hug the contours of the face and really teeny therefore it’s perfect to pop in your makeup bag. It is brilliant for drawing precise contour lines, and fits very well under the cheekbones and down the sides of the nose. I used a fluffy brush to blend out the lines.

It presents a lovely, subtle and skin flattering trio of shades for a naturally sculpted look and therefore I really like this. If you are looking for anything with highlight that can be seen from outer space then this one isn’t for you, for you can always layer that on top if you want to amp things up! What I like is that you can use the highlight shade like a powder to lightly set makeup. All the textures are super soft and blendable.

Furthermore, as I am totally paranoid about the ageing effects of pollution, I am a big fan of the Clarins Anti-Pollution complex, and if I can pack it into my makeup, I will!

The Clarins Contouring Palette costs £36. Find Clarins Face Contouring Palette HERE now.
