China Glaze Everglaze Review

China Glaze EverGlaze is a long wear polish that doesn’t require a UV or LED lamp to set, making it perfect for at home manicures or pedicures. Not only is no lamp required, but you can remove it with normal polish remover too.

It’s described on the EverGlaze website as “a hybrid between lacquer and gel, providing gel-like results without the curing or removal processes in an effortless two-step system. The results are strong, glossy nails with major staying power for up to 10 days”

The system consists of a prep stage which is a nail dehydrator, similar to OPI ChipSkip, followed by 2 thin coats of polish. After 2 minutes you then apply the top coat which “sets” the nails using natural UV light.

I received four Everglaze polishes to try out of a range of twenty four – a shimmery mermaid green, a deep tomato red, a gorgeous summery neon Orange and my favourite, a deep, dark, vampy red.

Cashing out is a gorgeous, mermaid green which is perfect for those beach holidays where the shimmer would really stand out. It’s a sheer shade though, so to get full opacity would require several coats.

Pretty poppy is for me one of those true summer neons. As with all neons it can streak slightly but with careful application or a white base below it would be fine. I can’t wait for summer to come though, as this is a perfect toe colour.

Tomato-Tomatoe is that true tomato red colour, hence the name. It’s a beautiful, vibrant red and I had several compliments whilst wearing it. A must for all polish lovers out there.

I did try this one with normal base and top coat to compare and it wore very well indeed, especially as I’m very hard on my hands.

I’m not bordeaux is my favourite of the colours I sampled. It’s a beautiful, deep, vampy red similar to my beloved Nails Inc- Victoria, which is a ‘go to’ colour for me for Autumn and Winter.

This is the one I chose for the full wear test using the Prep and Topcoat supplied by China Glaze.

Unfortunately my camera wouldn’t capture the shine that the topcoat provided easily, but take it from me that it gives a really beautiful, high gloss finish.

I put this to the true test at work where I’m constantly typing and I also wash my hands at least 50+ times a day, so this really did get a full, vigorous test.

The picture above was taken after 5 days of wear, and as you can see there is chipping but it didn’t get any worse than this. Someone who doesn’t abuse their hands as much as I do, or wash them 50+ times a day,  would probably get the full 10 days as advertised by China Glaze.

I would certainly purchase more from the range as for me this was a long wear polish – even gels only last 1 week for me, so in comparison this is much cheaper and easier as it can be done at home.

Would I recommend? Absolutely.
