Here’s the scoop on Aveda Tulasara.

Although it turns a few of our normal skincare practices on their heads, it is actually quite a simple collection and it’s simplicity is very appealing. The part I am most attracted to is the Aveda Tulasara Awakening Ritual. It begins with facial dry brushing using the most perfect brush.

I didn’t know this so sorry if you already knew, but Facial Dry Brushing is a traditional Ayuredic technique. It promotes skin renewal, exfoliation and the elimination of toxins and other impurities.

The Tulasara Radiant Facial Dry Brush is so good. I had the treatment at Aveda HQ and fell for it straight away. It has super soft bristles expertly cut into rounded peaks to massage the skin and hug the contours of the face. You use it on clean dry skin – so this actually means straight on to your skin in the morning without having to cleanse first, if you have cleansed well the night before.

You sweep the brush over the skin, starting in the centre of the decollete moving in circular anti-clockwise motions. You work up the neck, over the face, and then back down again to encourage lymph drainage. This step sweeps away dead and dulling skin cells.

The next step in the Ritual is the Aveda Tulasara Radiant Oleation Oil which is a blend of six plant oils – sesame, sunflower, jojoba seed, rose hip, apricot kernel and sweet almond. It feels so good on the skin. You strongly massage four pumps over the skin you have brushed, leave it on for four minutes and then cleanse the oil off.

I have done the ritual three times now. You can also do it at night once you have removed makeup and then sleep in the oil if you wish. Each time my skin has been left glowing. I love it. There are also three Tulasara Concentrates – Firm, Bright and Calm. I have Firm which is apparently the thickest texture but I haven’t really tried this yet. I have to say I am more attracted to the new cleansing ritual because it’s so different and effective.

You can buy a kit that has both the Aveda Tulasara brush and Oleation Oil HERE for £65. If you are up for something new in morning cleansing, I couldn’t recommend it more. See the full range here.
