Atelier Bloem is the brainchild of the skincare gurus, Malin and Goetz and they have created a bespoke collection of fragrances inspired by the famous floating flower market in Amsterdam, Bloemarket.
I was lucky enough to get to try two of the new summer editions in the line, Half Moon and 1614, named after the year Andrew Goetz’s Hamlet was discovered by the Dutch and the name of the boat that was sailed on when it was discovered.

I love the names, so personal to the brand creators, which really sends a message that they have thought carefully about these perfumes and care about them.
The packaging is gorgeous, simple yet classy and would look stunning on any dressing table. The glass bottles are curved at the top giving it a little twist to a bog standard square style bottle and they are 100mls each so they will last the whole summer, and Autumn, too.
The perfumes are really different so let me take you through them both and my initial thoughts.
Atelier Bloem Half Moon

Halve Maen (Half Moon) was the ship that Henry Hudson sailed up the Hudson River when he was searching for a quicker route to China from England.
As spring turns to summer, there is a subtly delicious sweet and green scent that fills the air of the Hudson Valley.
The scent has top notes of Bergamot and Peach, middle notes of White Jasmine, Honeysuckle Blossom and Fresh Greends, and dry-down of Amber, Musks and Amberwood.
On first application you smell the White Jasmin almost instantly. When it settles on the skin the Amber comes forward giving it a complexity that is so sexy and bold.

I would highly recommend this if you want a perfume for those summer nights. Think bardot dresses, flowers in your hair, red lips and of course the essential warm sand beneath your toes.
Wearing this scent makes me feel confident and sexy. Oh, and the best thing is that it lasts all day (and night if you want it to). Find it here

Specifically named after the year that Andrew’s hamlet in the Hudson Valley was originally ‘discovered’ by the Dutch on their trip up the Hudson. The house sits between a clover field of Knowles which emits an incredibly sweet perfume every morning in the summer – hence the inspiration for the fragrance.
This scent is my favourite out of the two (although they are both stunning) but I feel like this one is the most unique. This has top notes of Black Pepper, Bergamot, and Neroli from Tunisia, middle notes of Sambac Jasmine, Sweet Clover, Rose Water, and Orange Blossom, and drydown of Teakwood, Sandalwood and Musk.

It is so fresh, not like a ‘just put the washing out’ freshness but in a ‘taking a sip of an ice cold G&T on the beach’ type of fresh. The Black Pepper isn’t what you expect, you do get a hint of it but it’s not overpowering. It intrigues you more than hits you in the face. With the warmth of my skin it has left a gorgeous floral scent that has so far received many compliments. Find it here
