It’s hard to remember a life without contouring dominating the cosmetics market; it’s actually crazy to think that two years ago I didn’t own a single contouring palette. Fast forward to 2016 and there are a lot of products to choose from. It’s difficult for someone like me to decide which product is best to buy, so I can image it is pretty difficult for your average consumer to find something that ‘does it all’!
The ARTDECO Most Wanted Contouring Palette is brand new and it combines the need to contour with a slimline, travel-friendly palette. It is pitched as the on-the-go contour palette featuring three contouring shades, which gradually get darker, a highlight shade, a blush and a very on-trend strobing powder.
ARTDECO have made light work of fitting all the shades you need into one palette and to be honest, I love it! What is great about The Most Wanted Contouring Palette is that everything is labelled, so whether you’re a contouring expert or a novice, it’s been made very simple.
Here are my quick and easy steps for creating perfectly contoured skin with the ARTDECO palette:
ARTDECO Most Wanted Contouring Palette – Step One
To create the perfect contoured look, first start with your chosen foundation, concealer and powder. I find it important to begin the contouring process by creating a flawless base. This really gives you a blank canvas to work with. You can then add the definition back to the face with contouring and cheat the features you don’t naturally have.
ARTDECO Most Wanted Contouring Palette – Step Two
You should always start with the dark shades first, so once I’ve perfected my base, I take Contour 1 on an angled contour brush. I have quite a round face, so I work the powder into the hollows of my cheeks, spending a long time working the colour into my cheekbones and blending it out. The formulation of all the powders is very buttery, which makes it very easy to pick up the pigment, but also easy to blend out the colour if you happen to make any mistakes.
ARTDECO Most Wanted Contouring Palette – Step Three
Next I take the highlight shade on a small round brush and I brush it onto the tops of my cheekbones, down the centre of my nose and under my brow bone. The highlight shade in The Most Wanted Contouring Palette adds brightness to the skin, but it has no shimmer or sparkle in the formula. You can also use this highlight shade to tidy up any mistakes or to set your concealer!
ARTDECO Most Wanted Contouring Palette – Step Four
As I’m a bit of a highlighting obsessive, I now take the strobing powder and I apply it in all the same areas as the highlight shade. This adds a gorgeous glow to the skin and it looks so pretty. For me nothing beats the glow of your highlight shade when the sun is shining! Of course, you can always skip this step if you prefer to.
ARTDECO Most Wanted Contouring Palette – Step Five
Next I take the blush shade, which is a gorgeous universal pink. I take it on the Real Techniques Bold Metals Blush Brush, starting on the apples of my cheeks and working it towards my hairline. This approach helps to add even more definition to the face, which I definitely need!
ARTDECO Most Wanted Contouring Palette – Step Six
This completes your contoured look; all you need to do now is set everything in place with a light setting powder. I personally love the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder, it stops everything from moving, whatever the weather is doing!
The Most Wanted Contouring Palette comes in two different shade variations, the one pictured here is ‘Cool’ and there is also a ‘Warm’ version too.
It is honestly such a lovely palette. I love that it’s really sleek and travel-friendly. It’s hard to find a palette where all the shades and colours suit my skin perfectly, so that’s a real plus from me!
I’ve swatched all the shades for you here. From the left to right we have: highlight (which you can barely see), the blush, the strobing powder, contour 1, contour 2 and contour 3. As I mentioned before, the formulation of these powders is very buttery, they are lovely and pigmented, plus they last very well on the skin.
The Most Wanted Contouring Palette will launch this month, priced at £31. If you take into consideration that you are getting six different powders, all in a sleek, pretty palette, I think this is great value for money!
ARTDECO products are available to order online here – the Most Wanted Contouring Palette will be available from late July 2016.
