Anti-Ageing Chocolate Esthechoc

I went to the Temperley show today as a guest of Liz Earle who had Abigail James backstage prepping the models’ skin using their gorgeous products, and whilst I was on the way home I had a rather interesting conversation with my lovely driver about news of an anti-aging chocolate. At first I thought he was pulling my leg, however, a few tweets later and a bit of googling revealed that Esthechoc anti-ageing chocolate was the said miracle innovation and that it could potentially make your skin look 30 years younger! Hello!

So what are we talking here? This is the world’s first beauty chocolate. Well it seems that scientists at a Cambridge University affiliated lab have created a chocolate so high in anti-oxidants it actually has the power to wipe away the years. Esthechoc contains 70% cocoa and is rich in the antioxidant that makes flamingos pink!  It contains cocoa flavanols and astaxanthin and tests have apparently tests have shown some serious anti-aging effect.

3000 participants between the ages of 50 to 60 years old consumed Esthechoc daily and after 3 to 4 weeks and test showed that “the Beauty Chocolate was able to not only suppress markers of sub-clinical inflammatory damage in their blood, but also reverse their age-related depression of microcirculation and blood supply to such peripheral tissues as subcutaneous fat and skin.”

This basically means that there was less inflammation in the blood and that oxygen to the skin was significantly boosted thus increasing skin health. It’s also really low calorie – only 38 calories per bar and I think  you get 21 bars in a pack which you eat over 3 weeks.  It looks like it will be pretty expensive and available in high end retailers and spas.

Personally, I am all up for anti-ageing chocolate. Combined with the fact that it’s also low calorie and suitable for diabetics, surely it’s the stuff of dreams. It will be available from March 2015 and I am 100% up for trying it! More info HERE.
