I am always interested in mists because they are so easy and enjoyable to use, and I particularly wanted to try this one because it’s dubbed as a serum in a mist. It sounded pretty powerful to me! Here’s the low down on the new Algenist Splash Hydrating Setting Mist.
Update – available here now.
I went on a trip to Bologna recently with tanning brand Fake Bake and I packed a couple of different face mists (because I am obsessed). We were feeling a bit tired so I got my friend Victoria to try one (the new Eight Hour mist) and it was like a revelation to her! She was instantly hooked. What I realised was that not everyone uses a mist in their skincare and they are seriously missing out if they don’t! They are so refreshing and reviving and honestly such a treat, plus a good one can really deliver skin benefits. Everyone needs a facial mist in their lives.
Algenist Splash Hydrating Setting Mist Features
Some mists are pretty watery, and whilst they are refreshing, once they dry it’s kind of hard to tell they were ever there. This one leaves my skin feeling like I have done my skincare, even when I haven’t, so it’s great for a quick spritz first thing in the morning when you need something but don’t want to start getting ready just yet. Although this is called a setting mist, I feel like I’ll use it as part of my skincare routine too.

Patented regenerative compound produced from microalgae works to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles & brighten the overall appearance of the skin. Boosts cellular regeneration by 55% and proven to outperform Retinol, Vitamin C & E, Hyaluronic Acid and Coenzyme Q10.

Electrolytes and Minerals
Balance skin’s moisture, smooth skin’s texture and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Apart from using this as a hydrating toner after cleansing, I have given it a quick test over makeup, seeing as it has been designed for use as a setting spray! What I love about it is that it really helps makeup look more blended with the skin. If the finish looks at all powdery, a quick spritz of the Algenist Splash Hydrating Setting Mist weightlessly softens the look and makes everything sit nicely on the skin. It also really makes my skin feel soft and juicy.
I am not sure whether it made my makeup last longer because I wasn’t really paying attention, but I definitely liked the soft glow it gave to my skin and the boost in softness and hydration. Also, it is a nice fine, even mist so it doesn’t disturb makeup and so it’s a great one to keep in your handbag. You can also use it during the day to refresh the skin before makeup top-ups and it smells fresh and clean.
The Algenist Splash Hydrating Setting Mist is £28 and launches April 2017 HERE.
