I am a bit unadventurous when it comes to deodorant.  I want it to work, I don’t want it to stain my clothes and I do want it to smell nice. The Aesop Deodorant is aluminium free (which I’ll discuss shortly) and is suitable for men and women. I have been giving it a whirl.

Now I have only ever tried one product from Aesop – the Purifying Exfoliant Facial Paste – and I really like it. So I felt quite open to seeing what the Aesop Deodorant could do. I never really think about the Aluminium in deodorant, but apparently some studies have shown that there’s a link between aluminium and breast cancer which is pretty scary. I am not going to pretend I know loads about that but going  aluminium-free is definitely something to consider.

Aesop Deodorant Review

First up, I really like the smell of the Aesop Deodorant. It has vetiver,  patchouli & lemongrass which make a lovely fresh, unisex scent that I am happy to wear. What is good is that the fragrance isn’t over the top, and before long I can’t smell it and it doesn’t interfere with my perfume.

Aesop Deodorant – How it Works:

  • Zinc Ricinoleate – doesn’t inhibit perspiration but kills the bacterial decomposition in sweat that causes body odour
  • Many of the 11 essential oils work to inhibit the growth of Coryneform bacteria which is the main contributor to strong body odour

You just use one spray in each armpit, let it dry (which happens pretty fast) and you’re good to go. I have been using it for the past 2 days and have found it really effective. I want my boyfriend to test it out but he’s a bit dubious. He has agreed to do a one day test so I’ll update that here when he does.

Aesop Deodorant is the perfect handbag size, so great for on the go and for travel. I am going to continue to use it I think, and see how it fares. Very happy so far! Find it for £23 at Cult Beauty and Space NK. It’s pricey but it would last a long time and if aluminium is a concern for you, it’s a fabulous option.
