D&G fragrance actually triggered one of my first ever real grown up love affairs with fragrance, so I always feel a bit nostalgic about it. The Light Blue limited editions are so well done – I loved last Summer’s Escape to Panarea. The Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Sunset in Salina is certainly no disappointment, and it brings with it the heady, balmy feeling of island life in the summer sun. It’s gorgeous.

Salina is an island in the Aeolian Islands north of Sicily. It is a really green, fertile island abundant in lush vegetation and vineyards. It is warm and uplifting and takes me to somewhere in my head that I really want to be!
Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Sunset in Salina Notes

“A Floral, Fresh Floral fragrance, Sunset in Salina is the soft, heady delight of a glass of Malvasia wine sipped at sunset on a freesia lined terrace.”
Top notes – Vine Leaves, Violet Leaves
Heart Notes – Yellow Freesia, Orange Flower and Jasmine
Base Notes – Ambery notes, Cedarwood and White Musky notes

It’s a very fresh and bright floral, with a super soft dry-down that is very warming on the skin. The only reservation I have is that it doesn’t last as long on my skin as last summer’s limited edition, but it’s a big bottle so plenty to go round!
Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Sunset’s masculine partner is Swimming in Lipari which is an aromatic water fragrance with sea salt, grapefruit, rosemary, amber gris, dry woods and musk. I haven’t smelt it but it sounds amazing!
