Ciate Liquid Chalk – the Finish

Liquid Chalk is all about a super soft, chalky textured finish in delicate pastel shades. It’s not glossy, but it’s not matte either. I think I would maybe call this a satin finish. The texture complements the tone of the polishes really well in my opinion.

  • Wanderlust – soft mauve (swatched below)
  • Sweet Talk – warm nude/greige (swatched below)
  • Cheek to Cheek – feminine chalky pink
  • Confess – classic nude

I absolutely love the packaging and design on the bottle lids.

Ciate pretty much always has black lids but this time they are white with pretty designs that include bows, hearts and stars. Monochrome perfection!

Both shades were really easy to apply and they dried super fast. I used 2 coats in the swatches above and no top  coat (obviously because it would change the finish).

I used to be completely obsessed with super shiny, ultra glossy nails bit ever since texture and the matte look hit, I am always excited about what they are going to come up with next! I think this liquid chalk look is a beautiful compromise between gloss and matte. It has a subtle lustre that’s perfectly complements these soft pastel shades.

  • Just bought these on sale (the lighter set). Is it just me or are the lighter shades in both sets very similar? I am a little dissatisfied with the finish as I was expecting it to be chalkier/Matt. That’s not to say I don’t like it as the quality is quite good for lighter colors with a good coverage. Just don’t think it qualifies as liquid chalk 😉
