Unfortunately over the festive period I developed Shingles and was quite ill. The medication I was on, although necessary, had a few side effects and dry cracked skin and lips was one of them. Help was on hand though as I was sent over a little care package in the form of products from Yu-Be.
I’d never heard of this range but it has a cult following in its native Japan. It was created in 1957 by a Japanese pharmacist called Yoshikiyo Nowatari. Used by generations since this appears to be a staple in Japanese homes. Designed to treat dry skin anywhere on the face and body the moisture rich formula of Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream helps soothe irritation.
Key benefits are:
- Petroleum free
- Contains Vitamin E, C and B2
- Non Greasy
- Camphor scent fades quickly
Yu-Be moisturising skin cream is designed for all skin conditions and weathers. It’s even been to Mount Everest!
Now I’m going to be controversial here and say I don’t like Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. I know I know! It’s got a cult following but I personally find it really hard to apply and it takes ages to sink in, and let’s be really honest, it stinks!
Bearing this in mind I was a little apprehensive about trying what sounds like a fairly similar product. Well I was wrong!
The tub of cream doesn’t have too harsh an odour, and it really does fade quickly. I applied a small amount as per the instructions, probably a pea sized amount. This was sufficient to use as a hand cream and to apply the remaining product on my face and lips. Whilst taking my medication I did this 3x a day. Within 3 days my skin and especially my lips was softer than it had been since before I became ill.
I’ve since carried on using this once a day before bed and upon waking and my hands, lips and face are all very smooth. My hands are always a problem in winter; constant hand washing combined with my tendency to the pick at them mean they are always sore and sometimes even split! I carry the handbag size tube with me and my hands are so much better than they usually are this time of year.
There’s also a travel style kit available and within this there are heel and elbow socks, so come Summer my feet will be sandal ready as I’m applying a once a week treatment overnight.
I can really see why this realatively nondescript pot has such a cult following. It really has become a staple part of my routine and I can see myself using this year round. It’s also fantastic to get lips ready if you use the liquid lipsticks I’m currently obsessing over. You can find Yu-Be moisturising Skin Cream to order online here.
