There’s a new member of the Private Blend family for Tom Ford and this one is a woody marine oud that works well for both women and men. It has some interesting ocean notes that I am really enjoying. Here’s the low down on the brand new Tom Ford Oud Minerale Eau de Parfum.
Described as Original, Oceanic, Elemental. This is a very softly smoky take on Oud and it is very warming on the skin with a fresh twist. It makes quite a contrast to all the zesty scents of the summer.
Tom Ford Oud Minerale Notes
This is a woody marine oud fragrance where oud is combined with fresher ocean notes to bring a new take on oud.
- Top notes – Sea Salt, Sea Notes, Pink Peppercorn
- Heart notes – Oud, Salty Seaweed, Fir Balsam
- Base notes – Ambergris Accord, Styrax
I really like this. I’m a fan of Jo Malone’s Wood Sage and Sea Salt and this is like a more serious, more interesting and exotic version of that. It’s great that Tom Ford is doing something new with Oud. It’s wonderful to experience this fresh, new version of something so traditionally heady and heavy. It captures “the refreshing play of surf and sea against the burning flame of smoked wood”.
I think it’s the sea salt note against that depth of the resinous styrax that I love so much about it. It has a masculine sexy vibe and mineral texture that’s so appealing.
Tom Ford Oud Minerale Eau de Parfum is presented in a beautiful dark grey Private Blend bottle with the sleek, square lid that looks like a chess piece. It comes in a warm grey box. The 50ml is £155 and launch date is set for 14th July 2017. Find Tom Ford fragrance HERE.
