Ever fancied finding out exactly how old your skin looks? Well, I love a good selfie especially when my makeup is looking good and the lighting is right!! So, what about a selfie that does more than just boost your stats on social media? Olay has introduced the brand new Olay Skin Advisor to the UK, it’s very clever indeed and like having a personal skincare advisor at your fingertips. This is the selfie that provides you with some rather useful information about your skin and products you should be using.  Here’s the low down!

Olay Skin Advisor is a web-based skin analytics tool and advisor that will allow you to take a selfie that delivers some key info. It tells you your visible skin age and gives you a personalised skincare regime recommendation. If the idea of going to a counter for a consultation sends you into panic mode (and we know there are a lot of you out there that feel like that), then this is the answer.

This is a very simple process, takes the guesswork out of your anti-ageing skincare choices, and you can do it all in the comfort of your own home. Fabulous!

Olay Skin Advisor – How To

Access the app on your phone or tablet HERE. The tool first asks what you want to achieve from your Olay Skin Advisor session. I chose “Analyse My Skin” as a starter.

You need to take the selfie with your hair pulled back and makeup removed. Once that’s done you complete a short questionnaire about your skin and current regime.

It then compares you and your data to over 50,000 different profiles and comes up with your visual skin age, identifies your problem areas and offers to recommend products to best suit you.

I was rather pleased to have been given a skin age a good chunk younger than my real age, and I was also reassured that the app correctly picked up that my best area is my forehead and my worst area is around my eyes. I completely concur!

It then delivered a bespoke skin care regime recommendation which consisted of a range of products to treat my skin in the best way possible!! Perfect!

I think this is such a clever idea and the technology is brilliant. I am going to do my mum next!!
