This is a pretty big and exciting launch from Burberry – what Christopher Bailey is terming the true embodiment of the brand and the most significant Burberry fragrance to date. Here is My Burberry Eau de Parfum, a brand new scent fronted by a stunning campaign starring Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne.

My Burberry Eau de Parfum Inspiration & Bottle

The fragrance, the bottle and the spirit of My Burberry Eau de Parfum completely takes its lead from the iconic Burberry trench. The name comes  from the way people refer to the trench as ‘my Burberry’ and the bottle horn finish cap echoes the style of the buttons, while the hand-tied knot is English-woven gabardine.

My Burberry Eau de Parfum Notes

My Burberry is all about capturing the scent of a London garden after the rain and is described as a grand floral with an unexpected edge, understated in a typically British way.

Top Notes: Sweet pea and bergamot oil
Heart notes: Golden quince and freesia with a dash of geranium oil
Base notes: Rose absolute and patchouli oil

It’s a beautifully bright and fresh fragrance and the dry down is soft and floral with a subtle warm earthiness that brings a wonderful balance to the composition. I wore it on Saturday night and the waitress at our local restaurant told me I smelt amazing as we were saying goodbye. I love getting comments on my scents!

The Bergamot makes it wonderfully crisp and uplifting and its one of my favourite notes. The rose absolute with patchouli gives the base depth and smoothness against the skin. It’s lovely.

My Burberry Eau de Parfum was created by Francis Kurkdijan in collaboration with Burberry’s chief exec, Christopher Bailey. The aim was a “timeless yet contemporary fragrance representing the legacy of the Burberry brand.” I think this has been achieved brilliantly.

My Burberry Eau de Parfum launches globally in September 2014. It costs £90 for 90ml. Visit Burberry online for more information. There’s also a makeup look designed by Burberry Make-up Artistic Consultant Wendy Rowe, to celebrate the My Burberry launch. Called Nude Glow, it is an effortless look also inspired by the iconic trench coat. Stay tuned for more news on that soon.
