For the last month I’ve been using an eyecream from Eau Thermale Avène, a brand that launched in 1990 and has since become the best selling sensitive skincare brand in French pharmacies. The range launched in the UK in 2000 and has been met by the growing demand for skincare products with medical properties.
The Eau Thermale Avène range is based on Avène Thermal Spring Water, which for hundreds of years has been used to treat sensitive and eczema-prone skin. The soothing and anti-irritating properties of this water have been consistently proven by a vast programme of clinical trials.

The eyecream, Eau Thermale Avène’s Ysthéal+ Eye Contour Creme contains Avène Thermal Spring Water, Rétinaldéhyde CT® and anti-oxidant Pré-Tocopheryl® to prevent and correct the first signs of skin ageing.
·        Avène Thermal Spring Water has been clinically proven to have soothing and anti-irritating properties
·       Retinaldehyde works deep down to stimulate sluggish cell activity helping to reduce wrinkles on the surface and improve skin radiance
·       Pre-Tocopheryl is a stable Vitamin E precursor which is easily assimilated by the skin. It is also a well-known anti-oxidant which captures free radicals responsible for skin-ageing

My Experience:
I have been using the eyecream day and night for about 5 weeks now and I have been very pleased with it. It feels really moisturising and instantly and visibly smooths the skin in the eye area.
It makes an excellent base for my makeup. It effectively hydrates the under eye area and prevents my foundation and concealer from sinking into my lines.
In terms of the lasting benefits, it’s quite hard to tell how much the appearance of my lines has improved beyond the first few hours of wear. I think I will have to continue using it and wait and see. I do feel that the general condition of the skin has improved though.
I am more than happy to continue using this because it really is incredibly well priced. 15ml comes in at just £16.65.
I think that is really good value for money considering the level of medical research and the history of the Avène Thermal Spring Water which has been used in hydrotherapy since the 1700s. Fabbie!
Eau Thermale Avène’s Ysthéal+ Eye Contour Creme is available from selected Boots stores, The Garden Pharmacy, John Bell and Croyden and independent pharmacies.  For all stockists, please visit www.avene.co.uk

I always use a separate cream for my eyes. Do you? What products are you loving?

Can’t wait to hear from you

  1. Thank you for you review! :*

Lately I am too much interested about avene, too bad that in Romania we don`t have an official site to ask some samples..
My face skin is in too much need of a good cream, but I try what I get in my hands..
Still searching for the one which fits my needs…
