I thought I’d write this post because I did my makeup really quickly today using all my new Bourjois products. It literally took about five minutes and I was very pleased with the results.
In this review, I’m going to focus on the Bio Detox Organic Foundation which I was very impressed with.
This is Bourjois’  brand new foundation described as ‘a breath of fresh air for your skin’. Bio Detox Organic has a formula 98.8% of natural origin and promises to deliver oxygen to the skin whilst filtering pollution and evening out skin tone. The benefits include:

  • An anti-imperfection effect to even out the complexion whilst smoothing blemishes and lightly mattifying the skin
  • Anti-pollution and anti-free radical action for a pure and even skin tone and detoxified complexion

If you’re anything like me, you won’t care about any of this unless it looks good and is kind to your skin. I always worry about mattifying foundations because I think they’ll dry out my skin, sit in my lines and stick to uneven patches. But I didn’t need to worry.
I chose shade 54 which blends in perfectly with my skin tone. I used a couple of small pumps and applied it firstly to the T-zone and then blended it outwards with my fingers. I didn’t use much and worked fast as it dries to a velvety finish fairly quickly. It provides lovely light coverage. I just used a small amount but you could build up the cover if you needed to.
It didn’t feel like I was wearing foundation and my complexion looked and felt smooth and even.

I used a tiny bit of the range’s anti-puffiness concealer under my eyes which blended to a similar velvety finish. I used it straight from the tube and the roller ball felt cool and soothing. And my base was complete!
There was no need to use a powder. I applied my regular bronzer straight on top and it went on beautifully. It would normally be patchy if I had skipped powder.
This is a close up shot in natural daylight with a flash.

I am definitely sold on this range. Although I will have to remember to work fast as it dries so quickly. I feel it’s particularly suited to my combination skin.
In my five minute face I also used the Smoky Eyes Eyeshadow Trio – Lady vert de gris (09), Volumizer Mascara in black and Sweet Kiss lipstick in Brique chic (53) all from Bourjois. You’ll see more info about these in posts to come.
The Bio Detox Organic range will be available from October. Visit Bourjois’ website here.
