I was introduced to ARTDECO makeup earlier this year through my writing for Ree and I instantly fell in love. Their latest collection, the ARTDECO Crystal Garden Glamour Collection, is made for the colder months, bringing blusher, nail polish and highlighters to ARTDECO fans.
The Crystal Garden Glamour Collection has been decorated with Swarovski crystals, for pretty packaging that sparkles – no matter how dark and dreary it is outside. This collection is actually huge, featuring 18 different products and shades. I have four items from the collection, so let’s take a closer look…
Crystal Garden Limited Edition Blusher £29.50
The star of the show out of my selection is the limited edition Crystal Garden Blusher in the shade Sparkling Camellia. It’s aptly named after the sparkling blue flower on the outside of the packaging. The compact itself is a glossy round compact, which you open to reveal a stunning blusher inside. The blusher has three different pink hues and it’s embossed with a stunning flower and the ARTDECO logo.
Again, this blusher has a beautiful light texture, which applies gently to the cheeks, adding a soft winter pop of colour. The Crystal Garden Blusher is finished with subtle floral scent, which I didn’t actually notice until I applied it on the skin. Scented makeup isn’t really my thing but I know that a lot of beauty fans love it!
Powder Lip Finish £14.50
Here’s something a little bit different, this little pot is filled with very fine powder “crystals”. It’s designed to be patted on to the lips on the top of any lipstick, to create a lovely iridescent finish on the lips. It’s definitely not a product I remember seeing before and if I have it’s definitely not very common. You’ll see in the swatch below that it just creates a lovely iridescent sheen, so I think you can wear this anywhere on the face – not just the lips!
The long-lasting Crystal Eye Liner £10.50
This eyeliner arrives in a plain black tube, decorated with simple white writing. On the very tip of the eyeliner there is a silver Swarovski crystal, which finishes off the product nicely. The tube is retractable, so you can easily twist up the liner without needing a sharpener. There are two colours available in this release – Black Sky (shade 01) is the an intense black shade and Silver Star (shade 02) is a bright silver hue. I have Black Sky here and the eyeliner is incredibly buttery, delicately drawing pigmented lines onto the skin. You can see by the swatches that it leaves a pigmented black matte finish. ARTDECO say that once this is dry it can last for up to 16 hours, boasting a smear and water-resistant formulation.
Crystal Lip Finish
The latest product we have here is something we would have seen in the late 90’s. It reminds me of the type of thing I would have begged my dad to buy me with my pocket money – just with a more sophisticated formulation. The Crystal Lip Finish is similar to the the Powder Lip Finish as it aims to bring a pretty gleam to the lips. However, this time it’s created with a liquid formula which gives a more wet look to the lips. You’ll see by the swatch below that it really looks like a clear gloss top coat, but if you look closely you can see the tiny glitter particles. The limited edition gloss is only available in this clear, transparent shaded aptly named ‘Shine Bright’.
Swatched below top to bottom we have: The long-lasting Crystal Eye Liner, the Powder Lip Finish, the Crystal Lip Finish and the Crystal Garden Blusher.
