Alrighty! Here’s some rather exciting news, especially if you’re into contouring, and also potentially if you’re not yet into contouring! I have here the palette that, for the most-part of the year, has been literally impossible to get hold of because it was seriously a case of sell-out after sell-out after sell-out. This is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit that has just come back into stock at Cult Beauty! All I can say is….HURRY!

Actually I have a bit more to say than that!

This is pretty much the ultimate palette when it comes to sculpting and regardless of skin tone, you’ll find a shade that is grey-toned enough to create the kind of shadows that those with cheekbone perfection are born with.

I have been playing with it today and have taken some photos of my contoured face in progress, so stay tuned for a post on that soon. For now, let me talk you through the shades and show you just what they look like.

There are 6 neutral shadows in the kit:

  • Vanilla – matte highlighter
  • Banana – matte highlighter
  • Sand – sateen highlighter (very soft shimmer)
  • Java – matte contour
  • Fawn – matte contour
  • Havana – matte contour

So there are 3 highlight shades – 2 are matte and one has a very soft shimmer with no glitter. I can use vanilla and sand, however banana is a little too yellow for me.

The 3 contour shades will pretty much suit anyone depending on how warm your skin tone is. Fawn (in the middle) is the perfect shade for my pale skin and it adds the most natural looking of shadows to my complexion. I can also use the other 2 shades for more of a bronzed effect above the contour line.

Highlighters to brighten the high points – vanilla, banana, sand:

Contours to create depth in natural shadow – java, fawn, havana

As I said, I have a post coming up on how I used this today, but in the meantime, if you like the look of this or have always wanted to try it, then you’ll need to snap it up really fast because these sell out faster than you can say Kim Kardashian!
