I think what’s really significant about this body moisturiser, is that it is the single and only product from the 79 Lux brand, founded by Karen Cummings-Palmer’s who couldn’t find the perfect product for her needs. Karen has eczema-prone skin and needed a solution that really worked.

My Review of 79 Lux Balm

Just to give you some context, I moisturise the skin on my body every single day, without fail. If I didn’t, I think I’d feel like my skin would fall off. I started moisturising my body when I was pregnant a long time ago, and never stopped. Basically, I became addicted to slapping on moisturiser as soon as I am out of the shower and I literally wouldn’t leave the house without doing it.

While some body moisturisers provide an instant soothing effect for dry skin, not all of them moisturise in a long lasting way. The 79 Lux Balm does. It melts into the skin effortlessly, it feels rich and luxurious, yet absorbs really well and doesn’t leave a greasy or heavy feel. It also gives a gorgeous glow which I am a big fan of. The formula instantly makes skin look better.

I think the most significant thing is that it keeps my skin feeling soft and moisturised all day and night, so its effects are super long lasting. Sometimes the skin on my legs can dry out as the day wears on, but not with this product. I absolutely love it. It also smells gorgeous in a really subtle way so it won’t interfere with your perfume.

I use a full pump on each body part – so lower leg, then upper, leg, lower arm, upper arm, stomach, chest etc. I have been using it for just under a month. The only problem is, it’s hard to tell how much is left, so I don’t really know how much I’ve used. If it suddenly runs out I’ll be sad!

How Much is 79 Lux Balm and where can you buy it?

This is the only hitch – it really isn’t cheap. The balm is £46 for 200ml. We often spend more on our faces than our bodies, so it could seem inaccessible for a body cream. But if you need something that works on very dry skin in a long lasting way, then you’ll find it good value. It really depends on what’s important to each individual. Also, bodycare is the new skincare, and we are definitely moving to a place where we are realising that our skin doesn’t end at our necks.

You can buy it exclusively at Cult Beauty now where it has had rave reviews from people with dry skin and even skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

Alternative option

If £46 is way too much, and you are looking for something super affordable, I’d recommend something like the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream which is £4.99 for 250ml and currently on a 3 for 2 deal. It’s not as luxurious but it does really hydrate, sinks in quickly and smells clean and fresh.
